Face pack for oily skin: what to know

Oily skin reflects active sebum production and can vary with hormones, climate, stress, and product use. A drying mask may make the face feel tight without changing the underlying oil production. Oily skin can accompany Acne or Hormonal Acne, while greasy scale and redness around the nose, brows, or scalp can occur with Seborrheic Dermatitis.

If you use a mask, choose a gentle, non-abrasive formula and stop if it burns, stings, or leaves prolonged redness. Cleanse gently, avoid repeated washing and alcohol-heavy products, and apply a light non-comedogenic moisturiser. Do not squeeze spots. Persistent acne may need a planned treatment; isotretinoin is a prescription option for selected severe or resistant cases and requires medical supervision.

Arrange a review for painful deep spots, scarring, widespread redness, marked scale, or oiliness that began after a medicine or hormonal change. Seek prompt care for sudden facial swelling, breathing difficulty, or a severe product reaction. A clinician can separate ordinary oiliness from acne or dermatitis and tailor treatment.
