Face Gym microneedling: what to know

A microneedling pen moves across prepared skin and creates tiny channels at a selected depth. The skin may look red and feel warm, tight, or tender afterwards. The aim is to support gradual remodelling of collagen and improve the appearance of selected texture concerns, such as fine lines or some acne scarring. It is not the same as RF microneedling, which adds radiofrequency energy, and it differs from fractional laser treatment.

Choose a qualified medical provider who explains the device, needle depth, sterile single-use parts, and treatment plan. Tell them about active acne, cold sores, eczema, melasma, medicines, and a tendency to form raised scars. Arrive with clean skin and follow instructions about retinoids or exfoliants. Afterward, use only the recommended gentle products, avoid picking, heat, intense exercise, and direct sun until the skin has settled, and apply sunscreen as advised. Do not share or reuse home needles.

Contact the provider if redness, swelling, pain, crusting, or oozing is worsening rather than easing, or if you develop blisters, pus, fever, or spreading warmth. Seek urgent help for severe swelling, breathing difficulty, or eye symptoms. Anyone with active infection or an unexplained rash should postpone treatment until assessed.
