What should you know about erythrasma contagious?

Erythrasma develops when Corynebacterium bacteria multiply on warm, damp skin, often in the armpit, groin, or between toes. The bacteria may be part of a person’s usual skin flora, so the condition is different from an illness that commonly passes through casual contact. A rash can still be uncomfortable, and moisture or close skin contact may aggravate it. Do not share towels, clothing, or personal grooming items while a rash is being assessed, both to protect irritated skin and to avoid spreading other possible infections.

Clean the area gently and dry it carefully. Change damp clothing, socks, or underwear, wash towels and clothing regularly, and avoid scratching.
