What should you know about double loaded suture anchor?

The anchor sits in a prepared area of bone while its sutures pass through a torn or detached tendon, labrum or meniscus. Having two suture strands can let the surgeon place more than one stitch pattern through the repair, depending on the tissue and technique. The anchor may be made from a material designed to remain in place or to be absorbed over time. Follow the procedure-specific plan for sling, brace or protected weight-bearing. Do not test the repair early simply because the incision looks small. Hand, elbow or ankle movement may be encouraged while the repaired area is protected. Rehabilitation later adds controlled range and strength. Call the surgical team about increasing redness, drainage, fever, uncontrolled pain, or a brace or sling that causes new numbness or colour change. Seek urgent help for sudden severe swelling, loss of circulation, chest symptoms, or a new inability to move the limb.
