Does influenza cause cough?

Influenza can irritate the nose, throat, and lower airways, triggering a dry or chesty cough. The cough may appear with feverishness, chills, headache, body aches, sore throat, tiredness, or a blocked or runny nose. It can linger after other symptoms begin to settle because airway irritation takes time to calm.
