What should you know about digital fatigue?

Short answer
Digital fatigue is tiredness that builds when sustained screen demands outpace your ability to rest and recover.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

Understanding the pattern
Online work can combine close visual focus, static posture, interruptions and constant decisions. That combination may leave you mentally drained, heavy-eyed, less attentive or slower to complete familiar tasks. Poor sleep, dehydration, emotional strain and an unsuitable workspace can add to the feeling. Fatigue is a symptom, not a diagnosis: it can also occur with anaemia, infection, burnout, kidney disease or other health conditions.
Reducing the load
Break long sessions into shorter periods and change focus regularly. Stand, stretch your neck and shoulders, blink deliberately and keep water nearby. Reduce unnecessary alerts, use a comfortable viewing distance and avoid working from bed. Keep a steady sleep routine and record your energy, sleep, meals, medicines and screen demands for several days. If possible, discuss realistic workload changes with your employer or school.
When to seek care
Book a GP consultation when fatigue lasts, worsens, limits ordinary activities or is present even on days with little screen use. Prompt assessment is also sensible with unexplained weight change, persistent fever, breathlessness, fainting, marked thirst or changes in urination. Sudden weakness, severe breathlessness, chest pain or confusion needs urgent care.
Questions for your doctor
What causes should we check besides screen-related strain? Could my sleep, medicines or mood be contributing? Which changes should I monitor before follow-up?

Questions people ask
Does digital fatigue only happen to office workers?
No. It may affect anyone with sustained online study, gaming, messaging, care coordination or other demanding screen tasks.
When is fatigue more than a screen problem?
Consider medical assessment when it continues away from screens, disrupts daily life or comes with other physical symptoms.
