What should you know about a DEXA scan machine for sale?

A DEXA system is not simply a household device or a substitute for medical advice. It combines an X-ray source, detector, scanning table and analysis software to assess bone mineral density. A facility also needs appropriate installation, radiation-safety arrangements, maintenance, calibration and a process for a qualified clinician to review reports.

A used system may have an unclear service history, outdated software, unavailable replacement parts or a detector that no longer performs as expected. A demonstration image cannot establish that a machine is suitable for patient care.

Ask the supplier for the model and software version, service records, calibration documentation, warranty terms, installation requirements and training provision. Confirm that local regulatory and facility requirements can be met before accepting delivery. Plan who will position patients, operate the system, manage records and interpret results.

Buying equipment should never delay assessment after a fall, sudden severe back or hip pain, inability to walk, or a visible deformity. Seek emergency help for sudden neurological changes, such as new weakness or difficulty speaking.
