What should you know about derma pen for stretch marks?

The pen creates fine, controlled punctures across the affected skin. During healing, the skin produces repair tissue that may make a stretch mark feel smoother and look less distinct. Newer reddish or purple marks and older pale marks can respond differently, and the depth, location, skin tone, and scar characteristics shape the plan.

Stretch marks commonly develop when skin stretches or changes quickly, including during growth, pregnancy, or changes in body size. Microneedling does not erase them or prevent new marks caused by an ongoing change. A clinician should check unusual, widespread, or rapidly appearing marks, especially when other symptoms are present.

Tell the clinician about pregnancy or breastfeeding, active rashes, acne, eczema, infections, medicines, recent tanning, and a history of raised scars. Do not treat broken or inflamed skin. Call the clinic if pain, swelling, warmth, or redness increases after the initial healing period, or if you notice pus, fever, spreading rash, or marked tenderness. Seek prompt assessment for blistering, darkening or lightening that continues to progress, or a raised firm scar. Emergency care is needed for breathing difficulty or facial swelling.
