What should you know about da Vinci robotic hysterectomy?

The surgeon controls a camera and specialised instruments from a console. The uterus is detached and removed using the route planned for you. The cervix, fallopian tubes, or ovaries may or may not be removed; this depends on the reason for surgery and your preferences. A hysterectomy ends the ability to carry a pregnancy and periods stop afterward.

Hysterectomy may be considered for conditions such as fibroids, adenomyosis, endometriosis, abnormal thickening of the womb lining, or some cancers. Tiredness and abdominal discomfort can persist during recovery.
