How to get rid of dandruff

See a dermatologist when careful use of a suitable shampoo does not control the flakes, or when symptoms include thick plaques, marked redness, pain, crusting, discharge, or patchy hair loss. Prompt care is warranted for fever, scalp swelling, or rapidly increasing tenderness. These findings may point to infection or another inflammatory scalp condition.
