What should you know about a cyst in stretch marks on the inner thigh?

Stretch marks are lines formed when the deeper supporting layer of skin changes as the body grows or the skin stretches. They do not usually create a true cyst. A lump noticed along one may instead be an epidermoid cyst, an inflamed hair follicle, an ingrown hair, or another local change. Inner-thigh friction, shaving, sweat, and tight clothing can make bumps more irritated. The colour of a stretch mark can also make nearby redness harder to judge, which is why touch and examination matter.

Avoid picking, squeezing, or using strong acids on the bump. Reduce rubbing with breathable clothing and pause shaving directly over a tender area.
