What should you know about cryo for warts?

A clinician applies a very cold agent to a diagnosed wart and a small margin of surrounding skin. Stinging during treatment is common, followed by redness, swelling, blistering, crusting, or tenderness. The wart may shrink as the treated tissue heals, but some warts need repeat assessment or a different method.

Contact the clinic for spreading redness, increasing warmth, pus, fever, severe pain, numbness, or bleeding that does not settle. Have a persistent, changing, bleeding, or painful growth examined, especially if the diagnosis is uncertain. Get urgent help for breathing difficulty or rapidly worsening swelling after treatment.
