Contractubex for Burn Scars: What to Know

Burn scars can be flat or raised, darker or lighter than nearby skin, tight, itchy, sensitive, or uneven in texture. A scar gel cannot replace wound care and should not be applied to an open, weeping, infected, or freshly fragile area unless a clinician specifically directs it. The scar’s depth, location, movement, and age affect the plan.

Raised or contracted scars may restrict movement across a joint, while a broad scar may cause functional or cosmetic concerns.
