What should you know about continuous body pain?

Short answer
Continuous body pain can follow infection, inflammation, thyroid problems or widespread pain conditions, and ongoing symptoms need clinical assessment.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What the pattern may show
Body pain may be felt in muscles, joints or several areas at once. An infection such as influenza, COVID-19, dengue fever, malaria or brucellosis can cause aches alongside fever, chills, tiredness or other symptoms; recent travel, insect exposure, animal contact and food history can matter. Hypothyroidism may be accompanied by tiredness, feeling cold, dry skin or constipation. Fibromyalgia can involve widespread pain, poor sleep and sensitivity to touch. Long COVID may be considered when symptoms continue after an earlier infection. These possibilities overlap, so the full pattern is more useful than pain location alone.
Steps that help assessment
Record where the pain occurs, when it began, whether it moves, and what affects it. Note fever, rash, swelling, weakness, numbness, sleep changes, recent infection, travel, new medicines and activity. Rest, gentle movement, hydration and suitable heat may ease some muscle discomfort. Use pain medicine only as directed and check with a pharmacist if you have other conditions or take regular medicines. Arrange a clinical review when pain is persistent, widespread or limiting normal activities.
When to get help
Seek urgent care for body pain with trouble breathing, chest pain, confusion, fainting, a stiff neck, severe weakness, a rapidly spreading rash, persistent vomiting or signs of dehydration. Prompt assessment is also needed for high fever with worsening illness, severe pain after travel, or new weakness or numbness. A clinician can examine you and choose tests based on the accompanying features rather than treating pain in isolation.
Questions for your appointment
Ask which causes fit the timing and distribution of your pain, whether infection or thyroid testing is appropriate, how to manage symptoms safely, and which changes should prompt urgent review.

Questions people ask
Can an infection cause continuous body pain?
Yes. Several infections can produce aches, often with fever, chills, tiredness or other illness features; travel and exposure history can guide assessment.
Does widespread pain always mean fibromyalgia?
No. Fibromyalgia is one possible explanation, but infection, thyroid problems, medicines and other conditions can also cause widespread pain.
