Common cold without a fever: what to know

Temperature response differs between people and can vary with age, timing, and the virus involved. A cold without fever may still bring a blocked nose, sneezing, sore throat, tiredness, headache, or a cough. Not having a fever does not establish the exact cause, and a thermometer reading can be affected by when and where it is taken.
