What should you know about colored freckles?

Freckles are flat areas where pigment becomes more visible, often on sun-exposed skin. Their shade can deepen after sunlight and become less noticeable when exposure decreases. Several freckles may look similar, yet a spot that is unlike the others, develops multiple tones, becomes asymmetric, or changes at its edge needs a clinical examination.
