What should you know about clear dandruff?

Dandruff is scalp shedding that can appear as white or yellowish flakes, with itch or a tight feeling. Seborrheic Dermatitis can cause more persistent scaling, redness or greasy areas and may also affect the eyebrows, ears or sides of the nose. Dryness, product buildup, psoriasis or another scalp problem can resemble dandruff. Flaking alone does not establish the cause, especially when the scalp is sore or hair is breaking.

Wash the scalp regularly and massage shampoo gently with the fingertips rather than scratching. A Medicated Shampoo Treatment may contain an ingredient chosen for scaling or yeast-related irritation; follow its label or your clinician’s directions and allow contact time when instructed.
