What should you know about cherry angioma under eye?

Cherry angiomas are superficial clusters of small blood vessels and may occur on facial skin, including near the eye. The under-eye area is thin, mobile, and close to the eyelid and eye surface, so a spot there should not be treated like one on the arm. A clinician needs to confirm the diagnosis and identify whether it is on the eyelid skin, below the eye, or close to the lash line.

Do not squeeze, puncture, burn, or apply wart and mole products near the eye. Avoid rubbing the spot and remove cosmetics gently. Photograph it without makeup if you need to track change, then book a skin assessment if it is new, enlarging, bleeding, or visually unusual. If removal is appropriate, a clinician may consider Pulsed Dye Laser Treatment or Electrosurgery with eye-area precautions.

Seek prompt care if the lesion bleeds repeatedly, becomes painful or infected, affects eyelid movement, or is associated with swelling around the eye or a change in vision. Arrange routine review for any persistent new mark or a spot whose colour, border, or surface changes. Keep irritants away from the eye while waiting for assessment.
