Calcium supports nerves, muscles, and bones. Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium. Results are interpreted together with symptoms, medicines, kidney function, diet, and other blood tests. An unusual result may reflect low intake, reduced absorption, a parathyroid problem, kidney disease, or a supplement effect; it does not identify one cause by itself.

Ask whether you need to fast and whether any supplement should be paused before the sample. Bring a list of medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Do not start high-dose vitamin D or calcium without clinical advice. Your clinician may repeat testing or arrange a focused review if the result does not fit your symptoms.
