Burping, nausea, fatigue and loss of appetite

Short answer
Tiredness alongside nausea and reduced appetite may occur when an illness affects digestion, sleep, hydration or energy levels. Burping can come from swallowed air or reflux, and may be unrelated to fatigue. Consider when symptoms began, whether they are worsening, and whether fever, pain, bowel changes or changes in urine or skin colour are present.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What could cause these symptoms?
Gastroenteritis, influenza and COVID-19 can cause fatigue, nausea and appetite loss, with digestive symptoms sometimes accompanying fever or respiratory symptoms. Gastritis or a peptic ulcer can irritate the upper stomach and lead to burping, nausea and early fullness. Hepatitis A may cause tiredness, nausea and poor appetite followed by dark urine or jaundice. Depression can change appetite, sleep, energy and digestion. Pancreatic cancer is an uncommon serious cause of persistent symptoms and may involve jaundice, continuing upper abdominal or back pain, or unexplained weight loss; this symptom group alone does not establish that diagnosis.
Practical steps
Drink regularly and choose small, nourishing meals or snacks rather than forcing a large meal. Rest, but keep gentle activity if you feel able. Avoid alcohol and note whether fizzy, fatty or spicy foods increase burping or nausea. Review any recently started medicine with a pharmacist or clinician instead of stopping prescribed treatment without advice. Write down appetite, energy, temperature, pain and urine changes.
When to get medical help
Seek urgent care for severe pain, chest discomfort, trouble breathing, fainting, confusion, vomiting blood, black stools or yellow skin or eyes. Get prompt help if you cannot drink, urinate very little, become unusually drowsy or are rapidly worsening. Make a medical appointment if fatigue and poor appetite continue, symptoms interfere with daily activities, or you are losing weight without trying.
Questions for your doctor
Could an infection, reflux, stomach irritation or medicine explain these symptoms? Should I have blood tests or other checks? How can I maintain nutrition while my appetite is low? Which changes require same-day care?

Questions people ask
Can an infection cause burping, fatigue and nausea?
Yes. Some infections affect digestion and energy at the same time, while burping may also reflect swallowed air or reflux.
Should I stop prescribed medicine if I feel sick?
Ask a pharmacist or clinician first, because stopping some medicines suddenly can cause problems.
