What Botox can look like

Botox reduces movement in selected muscles rather than adding fullness to the face. As movement-related wrinkles soften, the forehead, frown area, or outer eye area may appear smoother. The result depends on muscle strength, brow and eyelid position, skin texture, injection placement, and the amount used. Some people want a natural-looking reduction in movement; others seek a more noticeable change. Lines that are visible without expression may not respond fully because they also reflect skin structure and volume. Botox should not be judged immediately, because the appearance develops over the following days.

Bring photographs or describe the expression you want to keep. During consultation, ask the injector to assess your resting face and movement, including brow height and eyelid heaviness. Discuss whether treating one area could change the balance of another. Avoid comparing your face with edited images or another person's result. Follow aftercare instructions, and arrange review if the appearance feels uneven once the effect has developed. Wrinkles and Crow's Feet may need separate plans; a filler is a different treatment because it restores volume rather than reducing muscle movement.

Contact the provider for pronounced asymmetry, brow or eyelid drooping, persistent discomfort, increasing swelling, or vision changes. Seek urgent help if you have trouble breathing, swallowing, or speaking, or weakness that spreads. A small bruise or temporary injection-site tenderness can happen, but worsening or severe symptoms need assessment.

Ask which expressions should remain, how your brow and eyelids affect the plan, when changes should be assessed, and what can be done if one side looks different. Ask whether another treatment is more suitable for a line caused mainly by skin texture or volume loss.
