If you notice a urinary change, record when it began, whether blood is visible, whether there is pain or fever, and which medicines you take. Share this information at an appointment. The clinician may use urine testing, examination, imaging, or cystoscopy to investigate.

People already receiving bladder cancer care can use the month as a reminder to check appointment dates, note treatment side effects, and prepare questions about surveillance. Continue the follow-up schedule provided by your cancer team rather than waiting for a campaign event.

Contact a healthcare professional promptly for blood in the urine, including a single episode that clears. Obtain urgent help if bleeding is heavy, clots block urine flow, you cannot urinate, or you develop severe pain, faintness, confusion, or marked weakness.

You might ask what could explain your urinary change, which tests are being recommended, and when results should arrive. After a diagnosis, ask about the tumour's grade and stage, the goal of treatment, expected effects, and the plan for checking the bladder afterward.
