One unusual result does not diagnose a specific condition. Results can be influenced by medicines, alcohol, recent illness, muscle injury, or problems outside the liver. Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C are among the conditions a clinician may consider, depending on symptoms and exposure history.

Ask whether you need to fast and provide a complete list of prescribed medicines, supplements, and non-prescription products. Do not stop a medicine without clinical advice.
