Aptos threading for a breast lift: key considerations

Threads placed through small skin entry points are intended to suspend selected soft tissue. Breast weight, skin stretch, gland position, previous surgery, and the desired change determine whether that concept is suitable at all.

Aptos is a thread system with different designs and materials. A clinician creates a planned path beneath the skin, where textured threads engage tissue and provide support. The procedure does not remove stretched skin, reduce breast volume, or move the nipple through surgical excision.

This distinction matters when descent is substantial or when nipple position and breast shape are the main concerns. A surgical breast lift addresses those features directly, whereas a thread-based approach offers a narrower change and introduces thread-specific problems such as visibility, puckering, exposure, or loss of support.

Have an in-person assessment by a suitably qualified clinician who performs breast procedures and can also explain surgical alternatives. Report any new lump, nipple discharge, skin indentation, persistent focal pain, pregnancy or breastfeeding, implants, earlier breast surgery, abnormal imaging, medicines that affect bleeding, or active skin infection.

Request the exact product name and material, entry and exit sites, anaesthetic plan, aftercare instructions, and a clear explanation of how complications would be treated. Routine breast assessment should not be replaced by a cosmetic consultation. Afterward, protect the entry sites and avoid pressure or manipulation unless instructed.

Call the treating team promptly for increasing redness, heat, swelling, discharge, feverishness, worsening pain, opening of an entry site, a visible thread, a new firm area, marked breast asymmetry, or a change in nipple colour or sensation. These signs deserve examination rather than home adjustment.

Obtain urgent care for breathing difficulty, fainting, rapidly expanding swelling, uncontrolled bleeding, or severe chest pain. Independently of the procedure, a new breast lump, bloody nipple discharge, or skin or nipple retraction warrants medical assessment.

Ask whether your goal depends on removing skin or changing nipple position, how much support threads could realistically provide, what happens if the result is uneven, and whether thread removal might be required. Discuss how future breast imaging, pregnancy, weight change, and later surgery could interact with the procedure.
