Consultant General Surgery in Dubai
274 Consultants on the Register · 180 with a Full-time Licence
What is a Consultant? “Consultant” is the senior licence title for physicians and dentists under the unified UAE Professional Qualification Requirements (PQR), which the Dubai health regulator applies. It needs 2 years of experience after a Tier 1 specialty qualification or 5 years after Tier 2 (1 or 4 years after a sub-specialty qualification), and a Tier 3 qualification cannot lead to the Consultant title. Dubai's medical register lists 274 consultant general surgery professionals: 180 with an active full-time licence at a facility and 93 Registered Only, who hold no facility licence and cannot practise in Dubai until a facility activates one.
