MOHAP License Verification: Sharjah, Ajman, RAK, Fujairah & UAQ

Last reviewed: 1 April 2026|By Zavis Research

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) regulates healthcare in the Northern Emirates: Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain. All healthcare professionals in these emirates must hold a valid MOHAP license. You can verify any doctor, dentist, nurse, or pharmacist's license through the MOHAP online portal.

How to Verify a MOHAP License

Visit mohap.gov.ae and navigate to the 'Smart Services' section. Select 'Verify Health Professional License'. Enter the professional's name, license number, or Emirates ID. The portal shows: full name, nationality, specialty, license type, license status (Active, Inactive, Suspended), registered facility, and license expiry date. Only accept treatment from professionals with an 'Active' license status.

MOHAP vs DHA vs DOH

Each UAE health authority regulates its own jurisdiction: MOHAP covers Sharjah, Ajman, RAK, Fujairah, and UAQ. DHA covers Dubai only. DOH covers Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. A MOHAP license is not valid in Dubai (you need a DHA license) and vice versa. Some doctors hold multiple licenses and practice in more than one emirate.
