About Teeth Whitening (In-Office)
In-office teeth whitening uses professional-grade bleaching agents (hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide) that are often activated by a light, to lighten the colour of the teeth in a single session. How much lighter the teeth become, and for how long, differs from person to person.
Duration
60–90 minutes
Recovery
No recovery needed
Anaesthesia
none
Setting
outpatient
What to expect
Your gums are protected with a barrier. A bleaching gel is applied to the teeth and activated with a special light. The process is repeated 2–3 times in one session. You may experience temporary tooth sensitivity for 24–48 hours afterward.
Teeth Whitening: published prices and indicative ranges by city
A row marked published gives the range of prices that providers in that city list on their own websites. The other rows are Zavis's indicative ranges. Neither shows that care is priced lower in one city than in another: only written quotes from providers can show that.
The ranges marked indicative on this page are indicative figures compiled by Zavis. They are not taken from a published price list and are not quotes: each provider sets its own prices, so ask the clinic or hospital for a written quote before you book. How Zavis sources prices.
