About LASIK Eye Surgery
LASIK (Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) reshapes the cornea using an excimer laser to correct myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism. What to expect
Eye-numbing drops are applied. A thin flap is created on the cornea using a femtosecond laser. The excimer laser reshapes the cornea underneath. The flap is repositioned. The procedure takes 10–15 minutes per eye. Your surgeon will tell you what result to expect and how your vision is likely to change in the days after.
