What should you know about zoledronate and canine osteosarcoma?

Zoledronate is a bisphosphonate that acts on bone-remodelling cells. In a dog with osteosarcoma, a veterinarian may discuss it as part of a plan for bone pain or other skeletal concerns. The medicine is not a stand-alone cure and does not remove the primary tumour or establish whether cancer has spread.

The care plan depends on the affected bone, imaging findings, kidney health, hydration, pain level, and the dog’s overall condition.
