What should you know about Yumi kojic acid?
Short answer
Yumi kojic acid is a topical pigment-care ingredient that may help fade the appearance of uneven dark marks when used carefully with sun protection.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

How kojic acid works
Kojic acid is used in topical products to reduce tyrosinase activity, an enzyme involved in melanin production. That mechanism can make existing dark marks look less noticeable over time, but it does not identify why pigmentation developed or prevent every new mark. Acne, inflammation, hormones, medication and sun exposure can all contribute to uneven tone.
Irritation is possible, particularly when kojic acid is combined with several exfoliants or applied to a weakened skin barrier. More product does not make the process safer or necessarily faster.
Using it with care
Patch-test first and apply a thin layer to the affected area as directed. Start slowly, moisturise regularly and use broad-spectrum sunscreen each morning. Avoid eyes, lips and broken skin, and introduce other brightening or exfoliating products separately.
If the mark is new, changing or unexplained, have it assessed before treating it cosmetically. A dermatologist can suggest a structured skin-brightening treatment when a cream alone is unsuitable.
When to seek care
Stop use for persistent burning, swelling, blistering, hives or worsening darkening. Seek assessment for a spot that changes shape or colour, bleeds, crusts, becomes painful or fails to behave like your other pigmentation.
Questions for your doctor
Ask what caused the pigmentation, whether kojic acid fits your skin, which ingredients to avoid together and how to manage irritation or recurrence.

Questions people ask
Can kojic acid lighten all skin?
It is intended for areas of excess pigmentation, not to change your natural overall skin colour. Results vary and irritation can worsen marks.
Can I use kojic acid every day?
Some formulas allow regular use, but begin according to the label and your skin’s tolerance rather than assuming daily application is suitable.
