What should you know about yeast underarm rash pictures?

Warmth, sweat and skin rubbing can allow yeast to multiply in an underarm crease. The skin may feel sore, itchy or burning, and the surface can look smooth, shiny or damp. A rash that extends beyond the main fold with separate small spots may fit a yeast pattern, while a sharply outlined scaly patch may suggest another cause. Contact Dermatitis, Heat Rash and Intertrigo can overlap in appearance. A photograph cannot show texture, smell, tenderness or the effect of pressure, so it cannot confirm the cause.

Gently wash the area and pat it completely dry. Choose loose, breathable clothing and change out of damp garments after exercise. Avoid fragranced deodorants, scrubbing and sharing towels. A pharmacist or clinician can advise whether an antifungal product is suitable; use it exactly as directed and stop if marked irritation develops. Do not apply steroid cream alone to a suspected yeast rash without professional advice, because it can alter the appearance and allow an infection to worsen.

Arrange a clinical assessment if the rash is spreading, very painful, repeatedly returning, cracked, draining or associated with fever. Seek prompt care if redness is rapidly expanding or the area becomes hot and swollen. If sensible skin care does not help, a clinician may examine the fold and choose treatment based on the finding rather than the photograph.
