Yeast rash on thighs: symptoms and treatment advice

The inner thighs may feel raw, sting during walking or show a red patch where surfaces touch. Sweat and close-fitting clothing can keep the skin damp. Small nearby spots or mild scaling may accompany the main area. Chafing, intertrigo, ringworm, scabies and contact dermatitis can overlap in appearance, so the border, symptoms, exposures and response to care all matter.

Wash after sweating and dry by pressing with a clean towel. Wear breathable underwear and clothing, and change damp garments promptly. Reduce skin-to-skin rubbing with comfortable fit and sensible activity adjustments while the area is sore. Do not share towels or apply steroid-only products without advice. A pharmacist or clinician can guide antifungal use if yeast is suspected.

Arrange a clinical review if walking becomes difficult, the rash spreads beyond the rubbing area, the skin opens or there is discharge. Fever, rapidly increasing warmth, red streaking or severe pain needs prompt medical attention. A sudden widespread rash with facial swelling or breathing trouble is an emergency.
