Xyzal allergy medication

Xyzal contains levocetirizine. Antihistamines reduce the effect of histamine, a substance released during allergic reactions. They can be used for symptoms involving the nose, throat, skin or eyes, depending on the individual and the product advice.

Itching, watery eyes, sneezing and a runny nose may occur with allergic rhinitis or allergic conjunctivitis. A blocked nose may respond less fully, so persistent congestion deserves a clinician or pharmacist discussion rather than repeated self-treatment.

Use the dose on your prescription or the product label and check with a pharmacist before combining it with another allergy medicine. Some people feel sleepy or less alert, particularly when first taking it. Avoid driving, operating machinery or drinking alcohol until you know how it affects you.
