Why does uterine sarcoma cause bleeding after menopause?

Bleeding After Menopause is a common presentation of Uterine Sarcoma. Sarcoma begins in muscle or supporting tissue of the uterus rather than the surface lining alone. As an abnormal growth enlarges, it can irritate, stretch, or break fragile tissue, allowing blood to pass through the vagina. The bleeding may be light spotting, a pink or brown discharge, or a heavier flow. It can occur once or return over time.

They may examine the vagina and cervix, assess the uterus with imaging, and recommend a sample of tissue when appropriate.

Seek urgent medical help if bleeding is heavy or ongoing, you feel faint or unusually weak, you have severe pelvic pain, or you develop shortness of breath. These signs can indicate significant blood loss or another problem requiring immediate attention. Do not wait for a routine appointment if your symptoms are rapidly worsening.
