Why does pyoderma gangrenosum cause skin ulcer?

Its edge can look blue, purple, or dusky and may be raised or undermined. Pain can be greater than the wound's early appearance suggests. Arrange prompt medical review for a new painful ulcer, a sore that is enlarging, or a wound that is not healing. Seek urgent help for fever, confusion, heavy bleeding, rapidly increasing pain, spreading redness, or foul drainage. Do not wait for a routine appointment if you feel faint or acutely unwell. Avoid self-treating an unexplained ulcer with leftover antibiotics or aggressive debridement.
