Why fever can develop

Fever After Birth is a very common presentation of Endometritis. After delivery, the inside of the uterus is healing and the cervix has been open, allowing bacteria to enter more easily. Infection of the uterine lining can cause fever, chills, lower abdominal tenderness, feeling unwell, and foul-smelling vaginal discharge. The uterus may also remain tender or fail to shrink as expected. Fever after birth has other possible causes, so a clinician needs to assess the full pattern.

They may check your temperature, abdomen, bleeding, discharge, and other possible infection sources.
