Why does Asherman syndrome cause periods to stop?

Periods Stopped is a common presentation of Asherman Syndrome. Bands of scar tissue can form after procedures or inflammation affecting the womb. They may join areas of the womb together, leaving less healthy lining to shed. If the cavity or cervix is partly narrowed, blood may not flow out in the usual way. Some people have light bleeding rather than no bleeding and may notice cramping around the expected period.
