The word nodule can describe a small, rounded area in skin, soft tissue, or an internal organ. White colour may refer to how something appears on a photograph, scan, or examination, but it does not identify the cause by itself. A dermatology page about skin lumps cannot determine what a lung nodule represents. Possibilities depend on the test used, its exact location, its size and shape, and any earlier images or symptoms. A skin lump may be an inflamed lesion such as a boil, while a chest finding requires the clinician who ordered the scan to interpret it.
