White dry skin around the vagina

The outer genital skin, called the vulva, can become dry or irritated after fragranced washes, pads, tight clothing, shaving, sweat, or repeated rubbing. Eczema may cause itch and sensitivity; psoriasis can create defined, recurring patches. Pale skin with marked itch, soreness, cracks, easy bleeding, or a change in texture should be assessed rather than treated as ordinary dryness. Discharge, odour, sores, blisters, or pain when passing urine may indicate a separate vaginal or urinary problem.

Rinse the vulva with lukewarm water or a bland, fragrance-free cleanser, then pat dry. Avoid douching, scented wipes, deodorants, harsh antiseptics, and scrubbing. Wear breathable underwear and change out of damp clothing.
