What should you know about weber hearing test?

The fork is placed on the middle of the forehead or another central point. You say whether the sound is centred or seems louder on one side. A centred sound can occur with similar hearing in both ears, while sound heard more strongly on one side can fit different patterns of conductive or sensorineural hearing change. Earwax, fluid, infection, or inner-ear disorders can affect hearing.

No special preparation is usually needed. Answer based on what you hear rather than guessing, and tell the clinician about blocked ears, ringing, dizziness, pain, discharge, recent noise exposure, or a sudden change.
