What should you know about tynor compression garment?

Short answer
A Tynor compression garment applies graduated pressure to support fluid movement, but it should fit correctly and be used according to clinical advice.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.
At a glance
- Main purpose
- Support management of swelling by applying graduated pressure
- Fit check
- The garment should be smooth, comfortable, and free of folds or rolling edges
What the garment does
Compression garments are designed to apply pressure across an affected arm, leg, chest, or other area. This can help manage swelling such as lymphoedema by supporting the movement of tissue fluid. A brand name does not replace a proper assessment: the garment type, pressure, size, and wearing schedule depend on the body area and your skin, circulation, sensation, and treatment history. It is supportive care, not a treatment for the underlying cancer.
Using it comfortably
Have a trained clinician check the size and fit before regular use. Put it on smoothly, without folds, rolling edges, or twisted seams. Follow the prescribed wearing schedule and remove it for skin inspection as advised. Wash and dry it according to the manufacturer’s instructions so its shape and pressure are maintained. A lymphoedema therapist can combine compression with movement, skin care, and other techniques.
When to stop and seek advice
Remove the garment and seek clinical advice if you develop new numbness, tingling, marked pain, coldness, colour change, worsening swelling, or pressure marks that do not settle. Get urgent help for sudden chest pain, severe breathlessness, or a rapidly swollen and painful limb. A rash, broken skin, infection, or a change in limb shape may require a fit review before you wear it again.
Questions for your doctor
Which garment style and pressure are suitable for me? How many hours should I wear it, and when should I remove it? Can I exercise or sleep in it? What skin changes mean I should stop? Who should adjust the fit if swelling changes?
Questions people ask
Can I choose the size myself?
A clinician or trained fitter should confirm the size and pressure because swelling and body shape affect the fit.
What if the garment feels painful?
Remove it and seek advice, especially for numbness, colour change, coldness, or worsening swelling.
