What should you know about tonsillitis cause fever?

Tonsillitis is inflammation of the tonsils. Viral illnesses commonly cause it, while bacterial infections such as Strep Throat can also be responsible. Fever may occur alongside a sore throat, painful swallowing, swollen glands, tiredness or an Earache. Most of these symptoms overlap with other infections, so fever alone cannot establish the cause. A temperature reading can vary with the method used and the time of day. More useful than a number alone is whether the person can drink, stays alert, and is breathing comfortably.
