TCA CROSS on the nose

The nose has curves, pores, oilier areas and skin thickness that can differ from the cheeks. A clinician examines each depression, its edges and its distance from the nostril and eye area before choosing whether targeted treatment is appropriate. TCA CROSS is not a way to reshape the nose; it addresses selected scar texture.

After application, points may become white, red, swollen or crusted. The nose can look more noticeable during this phase because it is central on the face and catches light. As the surface repairs, the scar may appear softer, but colour change or uneven healing can occur, especially after picking or unprotected sun exposure.

Tell the clinician about nasal surgery, fillers, skin disease, recurrent cold sores, previous pigment changes and products used around the nostrils. Do not schedule treatment over irritated skin, an active infection or a fresh sunburn.

Keep treated points dry or covered only as instructed, and avoid squeezing the nose, blowing forcefully if it disturbs the area, or using pore strips and scrubs during healing. Keep skincare away from the nostril opening unless approved. Use shade and the recommended sunscreen after the surface has closed. Arrange the review before judging the texture.

Contact the clinic for worsening pain, expanding redness, heat, pus, foul smell, fever, persistent bleeding or swelling that spreads toward the eye. Seek urgent help for trouble breathing, vision changes or rapidly increasing facial swelling. Report a new raised scar or lasting dark or pale patch at review.

Ask which nasal scars qualify, how the nostril and eye area will be protected, what to do if crusting is rubbed off, when to restart skincare, and whether another treatment would suit scars that are wide or tethered.
