What should you know about syncvision otoscope?

An otoscope uses light and a viewing tip; a connected version displays the view on a screen. This can help inspect redness, swelling, fluid, discharge, wax or changes near the eardrum and make explanations easier.

The picture is only one part of assessment. Symptoms, fever, hearing change, dizziness, recent illness, medicines and age also matter. Wax, movement, a narrow canal or discomfort may limit the view, and an image alone cannot establish the cause.

Tell the clinician when symptoms began, whether one or both ears are affected, and whether discharge, reduced hearing, ringing or balance trouble is present. Seek urgent help for sudden hearing loss, severe dizziness, facial weakness, severe headache, swelling behind the ear, a very unwell child, or injury involving an object or chemical. Prompt review is also appropriate for persistent severe pain, high fever, blood or pus, or symptoms after head injury.

Ask what the image shows, whether wax or movement limited it, which symptoms alter the assessment, whether hearing needs checking, how to use prescribed drops, and when another examination is needed.
