What should you know about sweating when sick but no fever?

Short answer
Sweating while sick without a measured fever can reflect exertion, warm surroundings, medicine effects, or infection-related symptoms that need context.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

How to interpret it
A normal temperature reading does not explain every cause of sweating. Check whether you had been active, under heavy bedding, anxious, or in a warm room, and whether the thermometer was used correctly. Pain, coughing, vomiting, dehydration, and some medicines can also make you sweat.
An illness may present with sweating without a fever at the moment you measure. Common Cold and COVID-19 can cause changing symptoms, while Acute Bronchitis, Cellulitis, or Chickenpox may have other features that guide assessment. Sweating itself does not identify the condition.
What to do
Rest, cool the room, wear light layers, and drink regularly. Recheck your temperature if you feel hot, cold, or increasingly unwell. Note the timing of sweating, activity, medicines, fluid intake, and symptoms such as cough, rash, pain, diarrhoea, or shortness of breath.
If sweating persists after the illness improves, occurs during sleep, or interferes with daily life, arrange a medical review. Bring your symptom and medicine record.
When to seek care
Get urgent help for difficulty breathing, chest pain, confusion, fainting, severe dehydration, blue lips, or a rapidly spreading rash. Contact a clinician promptly if symptoms worsen, you cannot keep fluids down, or sweating is recurrent with unexplained weight change, persistent cough, or marked weakness.
Questions for your doctor
Ask whether your medicines, hydration, environment, or illness could explain the sweating, how to monitor your temperature, and which symptoms should lead to urgent review.
