What should you know about subcision at home?

A professional subcision procedure uses an appropriate sterile instrument beneath a depressed scar to separate fibrous attachments. The operator must know the local anatomy, control bleeding, recognise when the instrument is in the wrong plane, and manage the skin afterward. Household needles, dermarollers, and online kits cannot provide that control or sterile clinical environment. Piercing or cutting the skin may also spread infection, worsen inflammation, create a new scar, or injure a small nerve or blood vessel.
