A skincare label does not establish that the product can reach a joint, repair cartilage, or treat a tendon injury.

Hyaluronic acid used in an injection is prepared for a different route and purpose. It should only be administered by an appropriately trained healthcare professional after considering the painful joint, examination findings, and other treatment options.

Check the ingredient list, expiry information, and directions. Apply topical products to clean skin, avoid eyes and broken areas, and introduce new products cautiously if your skin reacts easily. Stop if burning, swelling, or a persistent rash develops. If your concern is joint pain, stiffness, or reduced movement, arrange an assessment rather than relying on skincare products.
