What should you know about serotonin and cluster headaches?

Cluster headaches are thought to involve brain networks that regulate pain, sleep and automatic body functions. Serotonin is one chemical messenger involved in these pathways, but the relationship is complex and does not mean that a simple blood test can confirm or exclude cluster headache.
