Ringworm on the testicles: what to know

Ringworm can affect nearby groin skin and inner thighs, producing itch, scale, and an enlarging edge. A rash limited to the scrotum may follow a different pattern, including contact irritation, chafing, yeast, or inflammatory skin disease. A clinician may inspect the surrounding skin and take a small scale sample when the appearance is uncertain.

Fungus spreads through contact and shared damp fabrics. Scratching can irritate delicate skin and transfer infection to other sites, but itching alone does not identify its cause.

Keep the area clean and dry, pat rather than rub after washing, and wear loose underwear. Avoid fragranced soaps, powders, and products that sting.
