Before treatment, a clinician examines the dimpling, skin laxity, medical history, and any factors that could affect healing. Radiofrequency energy is delivered through a device over the selected area; the sensation is commonly described as warmth or heat. The device may be moved across the skin or used with another technique, depending on the equipment and the pattern of cellulite.

Afterward, the treated skin may look flushed or feel warm for a short time. Improvement is usually assessed gradually rather than immediately, because the skin response develops over time. Cellulite can remain visible, and maintenance or a different approach may be discussed. Treatment does not remove every cause of dimpling.

Tell the clinician about medicines, implanted devices, pregnancy, recent tanning, active rashes, and previous procedures in the area. Arrive with clean skin and follow the clinic’s instructions about products and activities. After treatment, use gentle skin care, protect the area from strong sun, and avoid rubbing or applying unapproved products while it feels irritated. Keep the follow-up appointment so the response can be reviewed.

Contact the treating clinic if redness, swelling, tenderness, blistering, marked colour change, or reduced sensation is worsening rather than settling. Seek prompt medical care for severe pain, spreading warmth with fever, pus, or rapidly increasing swelling. These findings need an examination rather than a decision based on photographs alone.
